OUR STORY
Built Around the People in It
Sekata started because someone noticed that moving alongside friendly faces makes all the difference. That idea became a community.
Back to HomeWHO WE ARE
A Neighbour-First Community
Sekata grew out of a small gathering in a Putrajaya park. A handful of neighbours wanted to spend time together while doing something good for themselves — nothing intense, nothing competitive, just friendly movement and conversation.
Over time, more people heard about it and wanted to join. Sessions moved from one corner of the park to community halls. The group stayed small by design because small groups let everyone feel genuinely included, not just present.
Today, Sekata offers three ways to take part — from a single welcoming drop-in to an ongoing membership — so people can find the level of involvement that fits their life. The warmth of that first park gathering has never left.

HOW WE OPERATE
Our Standards & Approach
Every Sekata session is run with care, clear communication, and a commitment to making the space feel safe and enjoyable for all participants.
Safe, Comfortable Environments
All session venues are checked for accessibility and comfort before each gathering. Participants always know what to expect before they arrive.
Privacy & Discretion
Personal information shared with Sekata is handled respectfully and never passed to outside parties. Our full approach is outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Consistent Quality
Session formats are reviewed regularly based on participant feedback. We keep what works and refine what could be better.
Small Group Sizes
Groups are deliberately kept small so everyone gets personal attention and the atmosphere remains sociable rather than crowded.
Open Communication
We encourage participants to share feedback directly. There are no formal layers — if something is not working for you, we want to know.
Community-Centred Planning
Session topics, timings, and formats are shaped around what the community finds valuable — not a fixed programme imposed from the outside.
OUR APPROACH
Grounded in Community, Gentle by Design
Sekata operates on a simple philosophy: steady, social movement is something people actually continue doing. The group format gives participants consistency — familiar faces, a shared routine, and the kind of accountability that comes naturally from people who genuinely enjoy each other's company.
Our sessions draw on the knowledge that belonging to a group has real, lasting value. The social side of what Sekata offers is not a bonus — it is central to how the programme works. People stay because they feel connected, not just because of the movement itself.
Putrajaya is a planned city with a strong community spirit, and Sekata tries to honour that. We work with parks, halls, and local spaces to keep sessions accessible and rooted in the neighbourhood. The goal is always the same: make showing up easy, make the experience warm, and make the habit one that people are glad they built.
